Orai is a small village in the Amarpur block of Banka district in Bihar. We call our village as Orai Jankipur. Orai and Jankipur are twin village. The village was founded by our ancestor Janki Ram Ghosh in early seventeenth century. The name of village is given after Janki Ram Ghosh. It covers about 100 hectares and has a population of 2000 people living in 300 households. The literacy rate there is moderate with a significant achievement in various fields. People of orai has excelled in diverse field like Public services, Judicial Services, Defence Services, Financial Services, Engineering Services and IT sectors. Students of Orai has excelled in accedemics and got enrolled in best of best institutes of India like IIT, IIM, DU, National Law school. We people of Orai live in different part of Globe for our work and studies but we feel so connected that we come to Orai every year in Durgapuja.
